It was supposed to be a quiet Saturday, brunch and a bit of shopping with her mate. Sandra, 44, hadn't had a proper catch-up with her friend Becca, 35, in ages. They'd barely placed their orders before the calls started.

Becca's husband, Kyle, 33, was at home with their nine-month-old daughter, or rather, he'd decided to take the baby out without telling anyone, grabbed the wrong nappy bag (the daycare one, clearly labelled, completely empty), and then absolutely lost it when the baby had a blowout in the car.

The calls escalated fast. Even after Becca told him repeatedly that her phone was on speaker through the car's Bluetooth, Kyle kept going, calling her stupid, demanding to know how she could leave him without a packed bag, blaming her for the whole situation. Sandra sat in the passenger seat hearing every word.

When they arrived at the house, Kyle was standing outside with the baby still strapped in her car seat. He made Becca take the baby inside to clean up the mess, then got on his phone to moan to a mate about how his wife had "stitched him up", and casually mentioned he'd be heading over to watch the match once the baby was sorted, because he was sending the little one home with Becca.

Then he noticed Sandra still waiting in the car.

He walked over, apologised that his wife had "ruined their brunch", said he'd heard what a brilliant mum Sandra was, and told her he knew she'd never put her husband in that position.

Sandra, by her own admission, had hit her limit.

She told him that's exactly why she's been divorced for over a decade. The moment her ex showed half that level of uselessness with no intention of improving, she walked. She said she only needed to raise one actual child, not two.

Kyle told her where to go and drove off to his mate's to watch the football.

Sandra told Becca what happened. Becca was upset, but not at Sandra, it seemed. The two of them ended up taking the baby back to Sandra's, where Sandra's own kid stepped in to babysit while the women watched a film and decompressed.

Sandra knows she doesn't have the full picture of their marriage. She wonders if she made things harder for Becca in the long run.

Was she out of order, or did Kyle walk straight into that one? Drop your verdict below.
